Cubbon Road dug up, again

BWSSB workers dig up Cubbon Road near HAL corporate office to fix a leaking water pipe on Monday afternoon. This, despite the BCC cracking down on road-digging by civic agencies and private firms. Cubbon Road is one of the city’s critical 35-plus roads where there is perennial leakage of water. BCC says digging is rampant there and often, the road is not repaired by the agency concerned. In the past few months, there have been once-a-week cases of utility service providers digging up roads and not quite restoring them later. Result: roads losing their surface quality and tax-payers’ money going down the drain.
